Westerly, RI, September 13, 2009, 2009 – The RIBA has presented its top honor to Joey Transue, a local bowler at Alley Katz.  Joey bowled an 865 series on 2/22/09.  He is the only USBC certified bowler in RI at this time to accomplish this.

Joey (right) was presented with a crystal bowling pin for this performance by Mark Laramee (left) President, RI USBC BA.

“It’s a very difficult accomplishment,” says Mr. Fraser, the RIBA Manager. “The 800 series has been achieved 41 times throughout the 4000 member association. Joey has, himself accomplished an 800 series eight times in the 2008-2009 season.”

Mr. Transue only had one word to say about his award, “AWESOME.”

“A 700 series by a woman is a very difficult accomplishment,” says Mr. Fraser, the RIBA Manager.  She has accomplished this twice in her lifetime. Upon receiving this award, Ms Herceg could not find any words to describe how she felt. She was speechless!
